Retention & cookies
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes in this Policy or as required by law. Booking records are retained for a minimum of seven years for tax, accounting, and insurance purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies necessary for the Platform to function correctly. With your consent, we also use Microsoft Clarity to help us understand how visitors use the Platform through aggregated insights, heatmaps, and session recordings. If you separately allow advertising measurement, Google Ads records a conversion when you select an email or phone contact link and after a paid reservation is confirmed; each event uses a fixed CAD 1 reporting value. You can manage each optional preference using the "Cookie choices" control in the footer or through your browser settings. Where required by law, we honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control. Disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality.
06
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate or incomplete information; request deletion, subject to legal exceptions; withdraw consent to certain uses where applicable; opt out of the sale or sharing of your information or targeted advertising (we do not sell your information); and not be treated differently for exercising these rights.
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, such as California, may have additional rights under those laws. Visitors from outside the United States may have additional rights under the laws of their home country. If you believe your rights have been violated, you may also file a complaint with the Florida Attorney General's Office, Division of Consumer Protection, or the privacy regulator in your state or country.
To exercise a right, contact us at privacy@myluggagegenie.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires.
07
Security & children's privacy
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS), secure payment processing, restricted internal access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted over the internet. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any required authorities as required by Florida law.
MyLuggageGenie is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it.
08
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide notice by email or prominently on the Platform. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
